Our Story- Mommies That Wine
Mommies That Wine was founded in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic—a time filled with uncertainty, overwhelm, and constant change.
Like many mothers, I suddenly had to shift my professional life from in-person to fully remote, while also supporting my children through remote learning at home. In the midst of balancing work, school, home, relationships, and the emotional weight of the pandemic, I often found myself overwhelmed and wondering what the future would hold.
One evening, after clocking out from work, while my kids were having dinner and I stood at the sink doing dishes, I remember thinking: This is not easy. I knew I couldn’t be the only mother feeling this way—whether working outside the home or staying at home, motherhood felt heavy.
That’s when the idea came to life: What if there was a space where mothers could connect virtually and talk openly about motherhood—the beautiful, the messy, and everything in between—without judgment, and from the comfort of home?
Soon after, the name followed: Mommies That Wine. A playful nod to how many moms unwind, connect, and yes—sometimes whine about mom life together. From day one, it was always clear: wine is never required. Moms are welcome to join with whatever they have—water, tea, coffee, juice, or even a kid’s juice box.
The heart of Mommies That Wine has always been the same: to create a safe, welcoming space that honors motherhood, shifts mom guilt, encourages self-compassion, and supports mental well-being.
Five years later, this community continues to grow—rooted in connection, honesty, and empowerment.
